Advent (Lat. Adventus: advent, coming, arrival)
is the celebration that has been defined since
the first centuries of Christianity as a liturgical
time in which the church has always prepared
itself for Christmas Day or the birth (Nativity)
of Jesus. It is a practice that invites people to
share, pray and reflect during the four weeks
leading up to Christmas, and to finish with a
special celebration on Christmas Day.
